The Birth of 1221 Phenomenon
This phenomenon appeared in my life in the early to mid 80’s. At work while sitting at my desk, I would turn around just in time to see the clock behind me turn to 2:21 pm. This happened every day for about two weeks before I began to wonder how it was that I knew to look at the clock at precisely 2:21. Soon I was to witness this number and phenomenon manifest in new forms and in new ways.
One day in the company cafeteria, I was in line to use the microwave oven. The man in front of me set the cooking time to 5 minutes. I thought to myself that this was an awful long time for the amount of food he was heating. I looked at the lunchroom clock, and noted that it was 12:21. That moment had a certain feel to it that reminded of “knowing” when it was 2:21. Moments later, the man suddenly opened the microwave door and set off toward his table. I was stunned when I saw the remaining time on the clock was exactly 2:21. That day is when my curiosity of this phenomenon was born.

Some Typical 1221/221 Examples
During the past three years or so the number sync phenomenon reached a new level. The numbers and experiences appear to be more connected to each other and some of the manifestations became just plain bizarre.
I was going on a weekend trip to my condo in the north woods with my friend Al. While we were driving, I told him that whenever I go there I get a lot of number sync's so keep you your eyes peeled. The first one was on an out of state license plate. It read B 221 2. I pointed it out to Al and said " I wonder if this means what it says, you know B as in “be” 221 and 2 as in the word too. Be 221 too? On our first stop to get a bite to eat, my odometer read exactly 122.1 miles. “What are the odds of that?” I asked Al, he said "around you, there are no odds, it just is" There were other sync's that weekend but they were not significant enough to note.

Al came over one night and I had to point out a recent discovery. I had noticed that the fire extinguisher glass breaker device that was located outside my door has numbers that end with B 221. Oddly enough, a year or so later, Al bought a house with a 22121 address. Not long after this, his ex-wife moved into an apartment number 221.
To top it all off Al bought a John Deere tractor model # 2210 with a loader bucket model #210. When I saw this I asked Al what the odds are that he would buy a tractor that has his address in the model numbers. Take away the zeros ( in numerology zeros are not numbers they are digit place holders) and you get 22121!!!
One day I was with Al's brother Ray while shopping for computer accessories. When my total was displayed on the register of $102.21, I broke out laughing. Ironically, the next time we went to the same store after Ray had parked I pointed out the license plate in front of us ended in 012 and the one to the right of us was 021. Not long after, we were at a mall and I pointed out two watch advertisement posters that pictured watches displaying 21st day dates. Later on, we stepped in line at A&W. Just then the clerk calls out “order number 21”. I turned around to Ray and exclaimed "twenty-one!" Then the clerk said that my order totaled $2.12. Ray says "how do you do that?" I said I don't know, I just know that happens. I don’t do it, but I do think that it does me!
Near the same time period while shopping I was at a sporting goods store and was noting the predominance of #12 and # 21 basketball jerseys when a page came through. Margaret call 221, Margaret 221. Hmmm. How does that happen? Two days later, I was at Borders Bookstore. I was holding a book while trying to decide whether or not to buy it. Just then a page came through "Linda 221, Linda 221" I took it as a sign that I should buy the book and as it turned out, the book was exceptionally good.

The 21/221 Dodge SRT4
In September of 2003 I was looking for a yellow Dodge SRT-4. I walked into a dealers showroom and the first car I saw was a black Doge Viper with a window sticker that read in big bold letters 12 MPG City, 21 MPH highway. Later on I found a Yellow Dodge SRT-4, which is a high performance factory modified Neon with a large wing on the back. While we were doing the paperwork for the sale, I asked where could find the restroom. The salesman told me it was in the parking lot due to the fact that they were renovating the old bathrooms. I went to the outhouse and noticed that the last four numbers on the company’s phone number was 1221.
When I got home I looked for an old page-a-day calendar page that had a picture of the prototype SRT-4. When I managed to find it I marveled at how it was dated April 21st 2002.
Then magazines began advertising the SRT4 as : Under 21 and barely legal. Then I managed to find two other articles that had info on the car which also had the coincidental number 21’s in the text.
WINGS 21
One day I went out to my car and noticed a yellow Porsche parked right next to me with a custom license plate WINGS 21.
221 MPH SRT-4
One day last fall I checked the internet to see if there was anything new happening with the SRT4’s. To my amazement I learned that the SRT4 holds a World Land Speed Record of exactly 221MPH!!
I wonder what the odds of this being merely "coincidence". Even if the odds were properly calulated, it would not explain the apparent connection between me. this car and my number sync phenomenon.

Those who fall for the statistical explanation may be falling for what I call a statisical cop-out. To me a mystery explained is only a fragment of the truth. To accept a fragmented truth as "the truth" merely prevents one from new discoveries and opportunities for growth.
221, The Circle of Fire and don Miguel Ruiz
In August of 2003. I visited Nunnelly, Tennessee to participate in the annual Circle of Fire Ceremony led by Toltec Teacher and author don
Miguel Ruiz.
On the opening day of the weekend, I was walking around taking in the sights of the beautiful Ranch where the festivities were being held. An older gentleman started talking to me about how nice the weather was. I noticed that he was standing in front of a black car that had license plates that ended in 221. I took this as a sign that Ron would be a good guy to hang out with and as the weekend progressed I learned that this was true.
The next mourning Ron and I took some seats near the front row of the stage was. It turned out that we had picked chairs that were right behind don Miguel’s. Later on that day I was sitting across the aisle from Ron. My eyes were closed while listening to the speaker and I felt someone bump into me. I intuitively knew that it was Miguel. I opened my eyes and saw Miguel standing in front of Ron gazing at him with those huge love filled eyes. Ron and Miguel communicated silently through their eyes for what seemed like five minutes. To me it was an incredible sight to see.
On the day of the ceremony I was sharing my number synchronicity stories with another friend that I had met there. We were sitting in the front row waiting for the ceremonies to begin. I saw a car approaching and noticed that the license plate started with the number 221. In excitement I shouted out to my friend “ See, there is one right there on that license plate! As the car drove past us, my jaw dropped in awe when I noticed that it was don Miguel driving the car. This was truly the pinnacle of my number synchronicity experiences. I don’t know how I could ever view this as mere coincidence. I asked my friend to reserve my chair for me, because I was going to go see if I could get a picture of Miguel and myself next to the 221 plate. As I approached the car, a woman in the back seat motioned me away from the car and placed her hands in a prayer position. I understood that they did not want to be disturbed at that time, so I returned to my chair, hoping to get another chance but unfortunately, I never did.

12/21 and the Mayan Calendar
In 1994 I quit my job and moved to Phoenix Arizona. My motivation was purely based on my desire to escape the routines and rules of the ordinary world in order to more deeply explore and practice shamanism. I began to have extraordinary experiences as soon as I settled in there.
One night I was watching a storm coming over the mountains. I had been told that some of the storms there can have spectacular lightning strikes and I was curious if this storm would be one of them. I turned on my AM radio and tuned down the dial to see if I could pick up electrical activity from the storm. I stumbled upon a station where the radio host was interviewing Chet Snow who wrote Mass Dreams of the Future. They were talking about the end of the Mayan Calendar on December 21st of 2012. I was all ears throughout the rest of the program.
In January 2005. I was catching up on listening to taped programs of the Coast to Coast radio program. Below is the transcription of what caught my attention:
Art Bell asked the Guest: 12/21/2012 means what?
Guest: From a Mayan perspective it means, if you look at the Mayan and Toltec civilizations for about a thousand years, they were obsessed with trying to establish this particular date, which I think a book called Mayan Cosmogenesis 2012 establishes as December 21st 2012 that is imprinted in a lot of their sculptures and stone work, and at that point the earth and the sun come into a direct alignment with the center of the milky way, which the Mayans view as the Cosmic Mother. They also called it a black hole which interestingly enough, because as it turns out, there is a huge black hole in the center of the milky way, that was only discovered recently by our astronomers and it is very interesting that the Mayans had this idea over a thousand years ago. And basically it is kind of like a vibrational step up, a reintegration point, a reconnection with the cosmic center which is a kind of intelligent force behind the whole situation.
Art: Is this that evolutionary jump that we were talking about?
Guest: yeah, I think so, I think what we are going to learn…if you look at modern development in the last couple thousand years, we have kind of had to wrench ourselves from the way of nature and from the cosmos and have this kind of separate understanding ourselves as individual egos. You look at Stonehenge, Chaco Canyon and indigenous traditional cultures, who were completely aware that human consciousness was integrated with these kind of cosmic cycles or galactic cycles that were kind of real stream of information waves flowing from the sun and parts of the galaxy and that is an understanding that we are kind of on the verge of a react_ _ _ _ ???? (not understandable)
Is it true that my numbers and the significance of them are incorporated in their sculptures, rituals and stone work? What are the implications if this is true? I needed to know more, so I purchased a copy of Maya Cosmogenesis 2012.

Page XXXIX of Maya Cosmogenesis John Major Jenkins writes :
“The ecliptic is the path traveled by the sun, moon and planets through the sky. 12 constellations lie along the ecliptic, and the sun passes through all 12 during the course of one year. The ecliptic crosses over the Milky Way at a 60 degree angle near the constellation Sagittarius. As such it forms a cross with the milky way, and this cosmic cross was called the sacred tree by the ancient Maya. ( the cross form was also known as the “crossroads”) Amazingly, the center of this cosmic cross, that is, right where the December Solstice Sun will be in 2012. This alignment occurs only once every 25,800 years.
The dark rift of the Milky way looks like a dark road running along the Milky Way, and it points right at the cosmic crossing point, the center of the Maya sacred tree, right where the sun will be in 2012! The Maya called this dark rift the Black Road, or the road to the underworld. They seemed to have imagined it as a portal to another world, and the December Solstice sun can enter it only in 2012.
The area of the sky where all of these symbols and celestial objects converge is the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. This was perhaps the most astounding thing I discovered. The part of the Milky Way that the December solstice sun will conjunct is also where the Galactic center is located. It is the cosmic womb from which everything in our Galaxy, including humans, came”.
I am very curious about how pertinent information seems to manifest in areas that I happen to be looking at. In the posts that follow, note the references that point to the same part of the sky as the Cosmic Center. The Cosmic Center is very significant to me and I will share more on this later.

“In modern science, everything that exists in the world is energy. Light is energy, and everything, at it root, is light. In the Toltec tradition, the information carried by the light is called the silent knowledge, and all of us are vessels of the light. The primary source of all information is at the center of the universe. In our region of the universe, this source is at the center or the milky way, our own galaxy. Locally, our source is the sun.”

The 12/21 Psychic

The following day I called some bookstores in search of Chet’s book. I rushed out to the first store that had a copy. When I got there, I noticed a sign on the wall that said there was a psychic doing readings from 10-4pm. The thought had never occurred to me to ask a psychic what this number thing might be about. I inquired at the register and the woman said “there is an opening at 12, is that too late?” No, I said 12 is perfect!
When I asked the psychic about my numbers, she talked about how there are 12 months to a year, 12 hours on a clock, 12 signs of the zodiac, Jesus had 12 disciples, twelve 12 oz cans in a 12 pack (I’m kidding here). I think she sensed that this was not providing an answer for me, so she asked me what month I was born. "December 9th" I said. "Oh! I am a Sagittarius too, my birth date is December 21st. That's 12/21! she exclaimed with eyes as big as dinner plates. How about that! Isn't that strange?” I said to myself “strange indeed, welcome to my world!

The Galactic Center
In 1977 I drew a symbol of the Galactic Center after I had a unique and extremely powerful experience.

The experience that I had could be described as a shamanic death experience. I spiritually died to an obsolete view of the world. I died to who I was. I temporarily left this world and returned with a perspective and an energy that had powerful and far reaching effects. My consciousness was altered for at least three weeks after this experience. One of the effects was that words took on expanded meanings. This effect was so overpowering that I had trouble reading. Whenever I looked at a period at the end of a sentence it seemed to have an odd sort of significance that it never had before. A simple black circle at the end of a sentence seemed to be saying much more than the rest of the book.
I started drawing black circles with an obsession that reminds of me of the character in the movie “Close Encounters of The Third Kind” when he not only draws sketches, but builds a large scale model of Devils Tower. I can relate to how he felt when he would look at his sketches and model while he thinks to himself “ this meanings something, it is important.”
One day I drew four lines of equal lengths coming out from the center of the circle. Then I drew four shorter lines of equal lengths in between the first four. Then I drew arrows pointing outward at the top of each line.
8/28/07 Addition
On a conscious level I really did not know what I had drawn, yet I understood on a very subtle level that it was a symbol of the source of creation.. The black circle in the center was the center of creation ( the Galactic Center) and the lines were the rays of the energy and matter of creation expanding from the center of source in all directions outward.
Dreaming the name of the symbol
In the winter of 2001 I had a dream that I was at a bookstore. I was browsing at jewelry when a pair of earrings caught my attention. At first they were shaped like lightening bolts, then they morphed into rings which then morphed into a key. I was considering buying it but I was confused as to exactly what I was buying. The woman behind the counter asked me, “So what was the name for that symbol that you told me about a while ago?” I had absolutely no memory of ever calling it anything, to my surprise I blurted out “Infinitystar”.
I personally cannot think of a more powerful symbol than one that represents the infinite source of creation. One night while walking down my favorite trail I said to myself “what could possibly be more powerful than a symbol that represents the source of creation and everything in it?” At that precise moment I saw the most spectacular shooting stars I have ever seen in my life. It seemed to be a precise agreement from the universe! A shooting Infinitystar!
The 12/21 Angelstar
In 1994 I had moved to and lived in Phoenix Arizona for about four months. I spent a fair amount of time camping near Cathedral Rock in Sedona Arizona. One day I stopped in at The Eye Of The Vortex bookstore and while browsing I saw a device called an Angelstar mounted on a wall in a meditation room. It was large artistic creation of the sun that had twelve large crystals mounted in flame-like rays the sun. When I first saw it I felt like it was literally pulling at my solar plexus ( pun not intended) I felt attracted to it in a way that I have never felt about an object before.
Six months or so later I was expecting my profit sharing check from the job I had quit and I got to thinking about buying a smaller version of the Angelstar that I had seen. I contacted Alphamatrix and inquired about a lower priced Angelstar. Michael, the creator of the Angelstar, asked me about my price range. I told him that $1700 was my absolute limit. Then he asked me about my preference for artwork and I told him that the sun design at the bookstore really resonated with me. He said “that is an Angelstar 12; it is for sale, and retails for $3600. I am willing to go down on the price if you would like to consider buying it.” “I sure would” I replied. He said he would think it over for while and he would call me back. After two hours or so had passed I called him to see if he arrived at a decision. He said that he could let it go for $2000 and it would cost $100 for packaging an shipping. I thought to myself Hmmm. Angelstar 12…. 2100 Dollars…I recalled how beautiful it was and the effect that the thing had on me and I agreed to buy it on the spot.
At the time I was not consciously aware of the profound symbolical significance that the Angelstar was reflecting to me. I knew it, or at least sensed it on some other level, but it would not be until years later that I would make a full conscious connection/ discovery.
In 1999 I had a rare artistic urge to draw a symbol. First I traced the image of the sun from a photo of the Angelstar. Then I drew an Infinitystar emerging out of the Eye of Horus and then I centered it all in the image of the sun.
This pretty much summarizes my experiences with this phenomenon. There is much more to this story that I am leaving out for clarity purposes. The experience that I had could be described as a shamanic death experience. I spiritually died to an obsolete view of the world. I died to who I was. I temporarily left this world and returned with a perspective and an energy that had powerful and far reaching effects. My consciousness was altered for at least three weeks after this experience. One of the effects was that words took on expanded meanings. This effect was so overpowering that I had trouble reading. Whenever I looked at a period at the end of a sentence it seemed to have an odd sort of significance that it never had before. A simple black circle at the end of a sentence seemed to be saying much more than the rest of the book.
I started drawing black circles with an obsession that reminds of me of the character in the movie “Close Encounters of The Third Kind” when he not only draws sketches, but builds a large scale model of Devils Tower. I can relate to how he felt when he would look at his sketches and model while he thinks to himself “ this meanings something, it is important.”
One day I drew four lines of equal lengths coming out from the center of the circle. Then I drew four shorter lines of equal lengths in between the first four. Then I drew arrows pointing outward at the top of each line.
8/28/07 Addition
On a conscious level I really did not know what I had drawn, yet I understood on a very subtle level that it was a symbol of the source of creation.. The black circle in the center was the center of creation ( the Galactic Center) and the lines were the rays of the energy and matter of creation expanding from the center of source in all directions outward.
Dreaming the name of the symbol
In the winter of 2001 I had a dream that I was at a bookstore. I was browsing at jewelry when a pair of earrings caught my attention. At first they were shaped like lightening bolts, then they morphed into rings which then morphed into a key. I was considering buying it but I was confused as to exactly what I was buying. The woman behind the counter asked me, “So what was the name for that symbol that you told me about a while ago?” I had absolutely no memory of ever calling it anything, to my surprise I blurted out “Infinitystar”.
I personally cannot think of a more powerful symbol than one that represents the infinite source of creation. One night while walking down my favorite trail I said to myself “what could possibly be more powerful than a symbol that represents the source of creation and everything in it?” At that precise moment I saw the most spectacular shooting stars I have ever seen in my life. It seemed to be a precise agreement from the universe! A shooting Infinitystar!
The 12/21 Angelstar
In 1994 I had moved to and lived in Phoenix Arizona for about four months. I spent a fair amount of time camping near Cathedral Rock in Sedona Arizona. One day I stopped in at The Eye Of The Vortex bookstore and while browsing I saw a device called an Angelstar mounted on a wall in a meditation room. It was large artistic creation of the sun that had twelve large crystals mounted in flame-like rays the sun. When I first saw it I felt like it was literally pulling at my solar plexus ( pun not intended) I felt attracted to it in a way that I have never felt about an object before.
Six months or so later I was expecting my profit sharing check from the job I had quit and I got to thinking about buying a smaller version of the Angelstar that I had seen. In the spring of 2005 I was gazing at this unnamed symbol. I thought it was odd that I never even thought of why I drew it or what it represented. It looked “right” and that is all that I knew at the time. I began to reflect on the oddness that the Angelstar would be and Angelstar 12 and it would be sold to me for precisely $2100. Suddenly it dawned on me, the sun in the Angelstar could represent 12/21!!! THE WINTER SOLSTICE SUN!!! Here is what shakes my foundation to the core: On 12/21/2012 the Winter Solstice Sun aligns with the Galactic Center and my symbol represents exactly this. I.e., the 12/21 sun is centered with the source of creation-The Galactic Center!!!
What may even be stranger is when I drew the 1999 symbol I had thought the Eye of Horus was a star gate symbol. In the winter of 2006 I heard a guest on the Coast to Coast radio program say that on 12/21/2012 a “star gate” will open up. I am cautiously skeptical about this as one should be, but I cannot rule this out.
So it seems that my symbol represents when the 12/21 sun aligns with the Galactic Center and the effect of this is a star gate or portal opening up. I could say that stranger things have happened, but in this case (8/28/07 Note: At the very moment I was writing this I was listening to a Jazz station and heard to my utter amazement a Jazz version of a Soundgarden song called Black Hole Sun.
The woman was singing:
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come
The 12/21/2012 sun could appropriately be called Black Hole Sun because there is a black hole in the center of the Galactic Center!!! Here is a classic synchronicity in action. The odds of this being mere coincidence seem unlikely!!)

I think it is safe to say that something beyond my ordinary rational mind has been communicating some kind of message through me in ways that seem so unlikely and in some cases seemingly impossible, and yet it shows up in my life with a regularity and precision that goes far beyond the theory of “ you look for it you find it.”

Rather, it is a celestial orb that is about 2.6 million times the mass of our Sun and currently is seen, to radiate about 20 million times as much energy as our Sun. With a density of more than one ton per cubic centimeter, similar to a white dwarf, it would measure about one solar diameter. This Galactic core mass, known as Sagittarius A*"

The archers arrow in the Sagittarius Constellation AND the scorpions tail of the Scorpio Constellation both point toward the Galactic Center. Is it coincidental that I am a Sagittarian with four planets in Scorpio?

4/28/08 Update
This phenomenon has been a very persistent teacher to me for about 24 years now. Even to this day it never ceases to amaze me how it manifests and how precise it can be in it’s appearances.
There was a time in my life when I just wanted it to go away. If I could not use it to make my life better in some way, then it seemed to be just a distraction that I would be better off without. I tried to rule it out as some sort of aberration of the mind, I tried to ignore it, curse it, anything to make it go away but it would not.
So how does this phenomenon work? If I were pressed to explain it right now I would say something like:
I see the universe as one living being. Everything in the universe is energy. All energy is intelligent, interconnected and orchestrated by an ineffable force that is incomprehensible to the human mind.

My theory will not be popular by some, because some folks resist the idea that some or even all events in life are orchestrated by an intelligence that cannot be explained by the conventional mind. This force moves through all of us at all times. Carlos Castaneda wrote that his shaman/seer teacher don Juan Matus said (Note: this is my own interpretation of what he said) to him:” sometimes we think have made our own independent decision, and it may seem like that to the average man; However, a seer can perceive and comprehend the fact that there are times when our decisions are not our own. It may appear to us on some level that we have made a decision to act, but on a deeper level we have merely acquiesced to a higher power, a directive of sorts, an intelligence that directs the movement of all living things.
It is like we are a cell in the body of the universe. We go where the flow of the universe directs us to go. This does not mean that we do not have free will or does it? That is another subject to cover later.
An average man with average perceptual abilities sees and experiences only what the conventional mind allows him to see and experience. A seer has developed a perceptual awareness that transcends the conventional mind. It is for this very reason they are able to perceive, experience, comprehend and even manipulate a reality that far surpasses the conventional minds abilities.
Conventional thinking prevents us from seeing the interconnection that exists all around us. We see things as disconnected simply because we have been perceptually disconnected from the source that informs all of life.
We have trained our minds to accept only what can be explained and it filters out anything that cannot be explained.
"We are a mystery that cannot be explained, we are a mystery that we can only experience. "
The only thing that stands in the way of experiencing what life truly has to offer us is the conventional mind. The conventional mind is designed to be a servant and not a master. This mind as a master prevents us from fully experiencing the interconnectedness and the sacredness of life. This mind as master does not allow us to see that all things are unfolding in an intelligent directed and purposeful way. This mind as master does not allow us to see that we are divine design and that we have a potential that goes way beyond any form of conventional thinking.
I believe that the phenomenon that I have been witnessing is a form of communication between me and the intelligence that moves through and directs all things. It is the intelligence of creation making itself known to me in ways that transcend conventional ways of thinking. It intentionally goes beyond the conventional mind so that the conventional mind can be transcended. Once transcended, the conventional mind becomes a servant and perception is freed to experience life as it is and not how the conventional mind fools us into believing. The conventional mind as master distorts everything so it can see things according to it’s own rules (and limitations).
